While it is probably self-defeating to admit this, I am disappointed in my own project. I'll start by discussing what it does, and then discuss where I wanted it to go.
I really enjoyed the Lab 4 Noisy Room and felt that it had a lot of potential. In class, you mentioned it's kind of like a cocktail party gone awry. So I thought about cocktail parties, and what it's like to maneuver through one. It seemed like a bit of a maze to work one's way through the room and not get trapped by uninteresting conversation. So what I envisioned was a game where you had to find your way across a virtual room without getting trapped in boring conversations.
What I did manage to accomplish is to combine pieces of several different labs and demonstrations and put the Noisy Room in motion. I was able to create a start and a finish, and make the pointer show the trail so the user could see where they had been.
There were things I wasn't able to figure out, though, such as how to make the Start and Finish boxes appear at random x points along their fixed y line. I also wanted to work with the proximity feature to make the mouse pointer slow down when you got too close to one of the characters--like literally getting slowed down by the conversationalists. I also wanted to come up with a method of scoring, but couldn't figure how to make it fair, since the randomness of the moving voices means sometimes the game is really easy.
So that's the basic run down. I added all the files to this folder, but don't completely understand how you'd be able to access them. Please let me know if you have any problems.
Thanks for an interesting semester. It's been challenging and sometimes really hard, but enjoyable.
