FINAL PROJECT
NOTE: I've noticed on some machines, this game takes some time to load
sound and images. It probably would be a good idea to put up a "loading -- wait" screen, but I'm not completely sure how to do that.

For my final, I chose to modify my Lab 2 Invaders project.
When I finished that particular lab assignment, I liked the concept I started,
but I wanted to make the game more interesting.
Using techniques I've learned since Lab 2, I was able to incorporate
most of what I had originally envisioned, creating a game that
is more dynamic than the original, yet still simple
and "winnable" for young players.
Modifications include:
- Designed a start screen with internal animation and a start button feature
- Used the proximity effect (sans audio) for the start and end menus to create a rollover
Bubble effect, reiterating the theme of the game
- Added obstacles to the bubbles (seahorses and jellyfish); designed them
to function by playing audio and subtracting points when hit
- The sea creatures are re-coded to move across the “x” axis of the screen; removed
the “y” coordinates so they would stay in the same path of travel
- Added internal animation to the shooter turtle to give a “floating” effect; also added internal animation
to the additional sea creatures to give them distinctive movements
- Added a text field function which displays text when the sea creatures are hit;
used a timer function to delete the displayed text after 3 seconds
- Added background sound, edited to loop seamlessly throughout the game
- Incorporated a continuous scrolling background for more overall motion
- The end screen appears when the player reaches 50 points (keeping it easy for evaluation purposes)
- I hope to develop this for actual client use, hence the “click for coupon” button at the end of the game (not currently active); the client could use the online game to draw visitors to the site and award them with coupons for their amusement park
Enough of the preamble . . . enjoy the game!
